ARQUITECTURA-G ACETATE EYEWEAR

A second version of the model we designed for Kaleos: two perfect circles define the front, connected by a continuous frame with a circular section. In this updated edition, the section has been thickened to enclose the hinge entirely, resulting in a cleaner silhouette, free from added parts. The color remains intrinsic - not applied, but embedded in the mass of the material itself. The final form is bold and sculptural, with a strong presence that is subtly balanced by the acetate’s transparency.

masheb sofa

The Masheb sofa is a rectilinear system with the softness of Alcantara and a strong visual presence. It plays with the concept of solidity through extremely simple bodies. Its square and triangular cushions sit on prismatic blocks that rise above solid-turned aluminium legs. Available in three sizes, the Masheb works as an individual module or can be intertwined with multiple elements to adapt to both casual situations and formal environments. Designed for Bd.

FLOS commissioned Sam Chermayeff Office and Arquitectura-G to collaborate on a showroom for their products. The intervention is an architecture that speaks to both domestic and working environments. The entire interior is made from 6mm steel plate - a paper model come to life. The steel bends under its own weight.

ARQUITECTURA-G TITANIUM EYEWEAR

In a unique collaboration with Kaleos, we applied our design philosophy to eyewear. We simplified the geometry of the frame in search of a Platonic archetype for eyewear. Blending precise geometry and craftsmanship, the titanium frames are handmade in Japan. Three distinct colors are available.

ACNE STUDIOS SAINT-HONORÉ

PARIS, 2021-2022, 300M2

The stone façade of the store's building is extended towards the interior of the space, somehow taking the city's soul into the store.

This willingness to connect with the city is also expressed in the windows. Given that the store is located at a Corner in Saint Honoré st. and it has two façades, the windows are left completely clear to establish a direct visual connection between the interior and the exterior of the store.

On top of that, a cutout in the intermediate slab creates a double height space that connects both floors thus enhancing the interior connections as well.

An exercise on making a porch habitable around a patio garden. The plot is surrounded by party walls, and the façade is just one more wall that encloses an interior space that wants to be exterior.

Acne Studios NY

New York, 2020-2021, 400m2

The commission consisted in transforming two adjoining stores into a new single space. Jonny Johansson shared with us a series of references of sharp shapes that, although having edges and angles, were also subtle and sophisticated. We started to play with angles and translucency, and this resulted in an artificial landscape of translucent glass panels that form a series of large triangular fitting rooms that articulate the store layout. In contrast with the sharp edge surfaces, the floor is a soft mantle that takes the shade of the glass. This hue is spread throughout all the elements of the store, creating a unitary atmosphere.

The street folds towards the interior of the plot forming a patio. This gesture generates a building that does not have a rear face, but rather an outdoor space of urban character that provides light and ventilation to all the units.

A former bank with neoclassic Greco-Roman architecture is emptied and pared back to the essential. At the end of one axis, a new colonnade creates a fresh background in the main room. Pieces of marble furniture create a new topography on the floor that sits on top of the old one. As a counterpoint, the lighting is technical and sharp.
